6.4 magnitude earthquake again in Turkey

 A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck again in the southern region of Turkey, which was hit by a powerful earthquake. The earthquake occurred in southern Hatay province at 8:04 pm local time on Monday, February 20, 2023.

Turkey's Disaster Management Agency AFAD reported this information. The earthquake hit Daphne town in Hatay province. AFP reporters felt the quake in the cities of Antakya and Adana, 200 km north.

An AFP journalist from the scene said that Monday night's earthquake spread panic among people. The new earthquake has created a layer of dust on top of the debris created by the previous earthquake. Apart from this, several people injured in the earthquake were seen seeking assistance for treatment.

In the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 occurred in the border area of Turkey and Syria. More than 41,000 people have died in Turkey alone. More than 6,000 aftershocks were felt in Turkey after the earthquake, AFAD said.
